Carrot River Energy is the business name of The Carrot River Valley Land Company (Limited), a closely-held private oil company, the rich history of which has been chronicled by Alan W. Scarth, C.M., Q.C. (former long-serving CEO of Carrot River) in his book entitled “The Carrot River Story - The First 100 Years 1905-2005”. Carrot River Energy is now well into its “second 100 years”, holding fee simple petroleum rights in and around Kindersley, Saskatchewan, which rights have been leased to and drilled by industry partners currently focused on multi-frac horizontal Viking oil wells.
In addition to having been a modest partner in the development of Saskatchewan’s oil resources, Carrot River’s history evidences deep roots in Winnipeg, Manitoba where the company continues to maintain its registered office. With over ninety percent of the company’s shareholders being residents of the United States and current management being situated on Canada’s west coast, it can safely be said that the Carrot River delta has wide geographical reach.
